Kongo Anti Ship Refit EDF Otranto

While the standard refit package for the Kongo class risen the firepower of the class to a reasonable level with added AA capability for self defence, the AA refit shown that by salvaging the space occupied by the hangers could significantly increase the AA capability of the class, the same idea could introduced for the anti ship role, hence the Anti Ship Refit design was born. Providing extra power generators and converters in the space of the hangers previously taken there were enough energy capacity to mount 2x 20cm twin shock cannons on both sides with good firing arcs and increase the effective firepower of the ship significantly, though some loss in AA firepower was accepted due to the energy requirement of the new guns, still the AA firepower is adequate for such a vessel of this size.

With this Refit the Kongo class armament changes as follows:
1x1 46cm shock cannon
4x3 36cm shock cannons,
4x2 20cm shock cannons,
1x2 12,7cm heavy pulse lasers,
8x2 76mm pulse lasers,
8x torpedo tubes,
16x missile tubes
